Baggage policy of Ural Airlines (U6)

Free baggage allowance (weight concept applies):

• maximum 30 kg for business class passengers;

• maximum 20 kg for economy class passengers;

• maximum 10 kg for infants under two years old w/o confirmed seat.

Maximum size of one checked-in article of baggage shall not exceed 50x50x100 cm.

EXCEPTION! Cologne

• maximum 40 kg for business class passengers;

• maximum 30 kg for economy class passengers;

Cabin baggage

In the interests of your own and other passengers' safety and comfort, each passenger may carry one piece of cabin baggage only. A piece of hand luggage may not be larger than 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm and may not exceed the weigh of 5 kg.

Additionally each passenger is entitled to carry the articles for personal use as a cabin baggage:

• A lady’s handbag or briefcase

• An umbrella or walking stick

• Foldable garment bags

• Bouquet of flowers

• A coat, shawl or blanket

• A small photo- or video- camera, mobile phone

• A laptop

• An appropriate amount of reading material for the journey

• A infant’s carrying basket and baby food for the flight

• Crutches or stretchers or wheelchair for passengers with limited mobility

Above mentioned items are not subject to weight and shouldn’t be marked with any tag.

Pointed and sharp items are prohibited from carry-on baggage. Always store them in your checked baggage:

Excess baggage

In case your baggage exceeds the permitted free baggage allowance, an excess baggage charge will be levied.

Passengers with excess baggage have to wait till the end of the check-in process , however may be refused to chech-in this baggage. Baggage in excess of these allowances acceptance is subject to space availability on the aircraft. 

Free baggage allowance does not cover the following:

• overweight baggage (weight in excess of 32 kg);

• oversize baggage (summary of three dimensions exceed 203 cm);

• sports equipments for water sport and golf;

• motor vehicles, motorcycles, motor scooters, motor bicycles, sporting and hunting boats and spare parts for them;

• TV-sets, tape recorders, audio, video equipment and household appliances, computers and components, office equipment over 10 kg in weight;

• pets and birds except for guide-dogs, which accompany blind persons;

• flowers, plants, greenery over 5 kg in weight;

• courier correspondence and parcels over 5 kg in weight.

Carriage of the above articles should be paid according to the actual weight irrespective of the amount of the passenger's baggage.

Bicycle Transportation

A bicycle is included in the free baggage allowance, if:

• total weight of passenger baggage, along with the bike, does not exceed the free baggage allowance;

• its dimensions do not exceed 203 cm in the sum of three dimensions (including package);

Transportation of bicycles is permitted under the following conditions:

• handlebars must be fixed sideways;

• bicycle pedals preferably removed;

• sharp projective parts shall be protected with plastic or cardboard to prevent damage to other loads;

• all bicycles are recommended to be packed.

If the total baggage weight exceeds the required standards excess baggage fee is applied.

Ski / snowboard / surfing and hockey equipment

Transportation of one set of ski/water sport equipment, consisting of:

• one pair of skis or snowboard or surfboard;

• one pair of ski poles;

• additional equipment (boots, helmet, goggles, special clothing and footwear)

is carried free of charge if total weight of checked baggage including one set of ski/water sport equipment does not exceed 40 kg. Baggage allowance is not depending on class of transportation and baggage allowance shown on the ticket.

Normal excess baggage fee apply if total weight of checked baggage including one set of ski/water sport equipment exceed 40 kg or if passenger has more, then one set of ski/water sport equipment .

Transportation of one set of equipment for hockey, consisting of

• one piece of luggage with gear ;

• one piece of baggage with two hockey sticks,

is carried free of charge if total weight of checked baggage including one set of hockey sport equipment does not exceed 40 kg. Baggage allowance is not depending on class of transportation and baggage allowance shown on the ticket.

Normal excess baggage fee apply if total weight of checked baggage including one set of hockey sport equipment exceed 40 kg or if passenger has more then one set of hockey sport equipment .

No additional free baggage allowance/ exceptions is provided to FF programs ("wings") card holders for ski/water sport equipment or hockey equipment transportation.

The carrier is not responsible for fragile, valuable or perishable products. A passenger shall keep his money and documents with himself.

Privileges of Silver Card's holders: carriage of 10 kg free of charge in addition to the established free baggage allowance;

Privileges of Gold Card's holders: carriage of 15 kg free of charge in addition to the established free baggage allowance;

Ex PRG/KLV to SVX - 15eur/kg

Ex ROM/BCN/LCA/SKG/MUC to SVX - 15eur/kg

Ex HER to SVX. - 10eur/kg

Ex VIE to SVX – 5,5eur/kg

Ex CGN to MOW – 5 eur/kg

Ex LCA to OVB/KUF/KZN/UFA – 10eur/kg

Ex BCN to KUF – 10eur/kg

Ex BCN to MOW – 15eur/kg

Rates for excess baggage on Ural Airlines domestic / CIS flights

The cost of carriage of excess baggage (except for skier outfit, snowboard and surfboard) is 1% of normal economy fare for flights across RF and CIS countries for every excess kilogram. No through baggage check-in is possible from EU destinations, due to RF custom rules.
